On Wednesday, 29 July from 5.30pm-7.00pm join us for a fun night to celebrate these business champs, add your own plastic-free pledge to our tree and be part of the movement to turn Plastic Free July into plastic-free forever.
But... we need your help finding identifying them. From now until midnight Sunday 26 July we want you to point out your local plastic-free superheroes.
Soβ¦
π₯‘ if your local takeout swapped out plastic containers for home compostable ones, we want to hear about it!
β if you know of an awesome cafe refusing to use single-use cups, we want to hear about it!
π₯¬ if your online orders (food, drink and otherwise) arrive free of plastic - we want to hear about it!
π± Even if your local food joint provides incentives for you to BYO containers, you know it - we want to hear about it!
The idea is simpleβ¦
To share how your favourite local (in Wellington, Kapiti, Porirua, Lower Hutt, Upper Hutt and Wairarapa) is fighting plastic pollution with a plastic-free solution, all you need to do is:
π£οΈ Tell us a bit about them (mainly, name and location) as well as a brief outline of what they have done to reduce plastic waste in the last 12 months + π· Submit a photo/video of the business OR a photo of you outside the business on this page by π midnight on Sunday 26 July π
You can also email your nomination through to advice@sustaintrust.org.nz - with βLove Welly, Ditch Plasticβ in the subject heading.
This is your opportunity to help spread their awesomenessπ. We will reward them with a feature piece on our website, across our social media channels and in our upcoming newsletter.
